From October 27–29th, HaP Research Fellow Dr. Emiline Smith and her research assistant, Zinpa Gyaltsen Budha, attended and presented at the Asian Criminology Conference in Ratmalana, Sri Lanka. They presented a paper together titled “Equitable, Cross-Cultural Knowledge Exchange in Research on Sensitive Topics in the Trans-Himalayan Region of Dolpa, Nepal,” which was the result of joint fieldwork undertaken in the Dolpa region. Dr. Smith also presented a paper titled "‘We Never Thought They Would Steal Our Gods. In One Day, Everything Was Gone’: Criminogenic and Harmful Consequences of the Trade in Dolpo's Cultural Heritage.”
