About the Project

Field Sites

Heritage as Placemaking works in two countries, India and Nepal, at sites that are largely no more than 350 km from one another. Each location is the focus of one or more subprojects that engage with HaP’s overarching questions and guiding theoretical strands (decolonization, bureaucracy, commoning, and erasure). While some of HaP’s subprojects focus intensively on one location, others work at several sites to answer a common research question.
